Our recent Advanced Design Skills grads produced issue #2 of our Twenty Four magazine, The Wickham Issue, showcasing the vibrant range of creatives located in the Wickham area (the suburb Pumphouse calls home).
This was a major class project that required the students to produce design options, then full layouts working to style guide formats. Working in smaller groups, they had to conceive, interview, write and photograph their own stories, as well as produce finished art for printing.
Because digital output dominates contemporary design, many current design students don't get to experience the print environment. As well as workshop sessions in designing for publication, as part of this project we also took a class tour to NCP Printing to better understand print processes and possibilities.
Our thanks to NCP Printing and BJ Ball Paper for their support for this project.
